here is another building that i have modeled...basically how i started this is, i started off with a plane and then printed off my diffuse as a material onto the plane and then started to add line horizontally and vertically and extruded in and out then i started to put it together and get it to look like the reference as closely as possible but i do make some changes as i enjoy doing that. However, i think this is a good way and it saves me time as it get's my UVW and diffuse done, all i need to then focus on is the, spec and normal(normal could kill off some time, dependin on how detailed it is).
before i paste the diffuse on top of the plane i get it fixed on photoshop and cut out the window, walls, signs etc and put them separately which leaves it easier for me when it comes to 3dmax. all i then need to do is get the 2d plane into 3d and all that needs is some extruding in and out.
here is how it looked when it was fully attached but i still need to get my normals and spec done for this so i will upload this as soon as it finishes.
i felt as if the brick colour and the style of the brick did not compliment the the classical windows so i thought to change the brick style and colour itself as i mentioned early i do not mind making it look different from the original reference as long as it hold some features or similarities that is fine with me.
