Okay here I am at the end of the course and it just feels as if I started. I am happy with the amount of work I have produced as an individual and it was a lot harder and tougher than last year. It was a huge jump for me as I always struggled with modelling and texturing on 3dmax I also had tiny bit of knowledge in using UDK. I stepped my game up and started to learn some basics and some intermediate skills in UDK to get me through this project. The tutorial on youtube has helped me to achieve this I also watched tons of tutorials in texturing and modelling that helped me to enhance my skills.
Yes I think I have improved a lot and I noticed that when I went back to my previous work and seen the major improvements I made throughout the years. This was also shown on facebook and people had noticed my improvements and gave positive feedbacks also on how to improve it so that has really boosted up my confident and it gave me a better approach in finishing my level. It’s a lot nicer if you have a positive approach to something. However I felt demotivated at times but that is kind of a usual thing like for an example if you were modelling something for weeks you do end up getting demotivated or bored even frustrated at times. To avoid this I worked on everything so I didn’t have my mind placed on one asset but everything and that kept me excited in finishing the game as I have complete motivation in finishing it.

Overall I have chosen 70,000 tris and 60mb. I kept under my budget and I felt as if I chose the right budget for my level. I think I didn’t struggle much in modelling the assets as ive been modelling all tons of things but I did struggle in understanding on how to get the texture to shine through my level. That is something I am still willing to carry on working with and improving. I am also happy with what I have learned in UDK especially with the sky as I got it to rotate and having it foggy. I will also get better in using UDK and expand my knowledge a lot more. I have decided that I will keep modelling and texturing and be using udk and get better in using them and I will also be using blog to get crits back from tutors and students well who ever really just for me to get better.
I am happy with my level  to be honest I have impressed myself but I still need some practice and I am willing to do so. This was a good experience for me as I have a basic knowledge now.  My blogging won’t end here I will still be blogging my work over holidays as I don’t want to get mis-tracked again.

some renders...

i didn't show the lamp light break but i will on the next blog when my level is completely finished i know it seems like i got a lot to do but i got most of it modeled just need to texture it and place it in UDK and the room i made extra will be in my next blog. cant wait until i get it done which i will get done and posted. I will also change the sky dome and the lighting which should turn it around as i dislike the sky lets hope my one comes out a lot better.

Sorry for the late update!! (BEEN BUSY) =D

As the title says im really sorry for not updating or getting renders of the assets i have recently modeled. So, want i am going to do is upload on the next blog from UDK its self...i have currently covered at least 85%-90% of my level all i got to do is model 3or4more buildings and texture probably 5 and texture the indoor market that is 3/4 done and needs texturing and model the goal post which would be behind the back of the shop as i created another area to the game. I will possibly do a few more fruits and some pipes and fans for the house and get the house window to smash like i did for the lamps and i will need to do the sky dome and lighting. i know it is not the the time for me to be modelling stuffs right now but my comp broke down and was sent to repair for almost 2weeks. when it got repaired i worked to my fastest paste to get the level complete. putting my self to the test i manage to get so much done within few weeks that makes me feel confident to complete my level completely. i will get it completed within the next week then finally mess around with the lighting and sky dome.

continuous work...

I have finally created the normals and spec and diffuse (of course) for almost all the assets that has been modeled. All the assets and buildings have been updated into the level. i have started to get the floor material done as it looked empty. soon as that was done i felt as if i was moving on with my level soon as i slapped this material. there was an instant magic of almost seeing the level complete. but i still have quite a bit to do baring in mind. i will show some snapshot of the level on my next blog...moving on with this blog.
i got the house attached together and fully textured it and updated it into UDK. however every time i put something in UDK, i change the texture and make it a lot better in UDK as you will see in my next blog.
here is my bin that was unfinished a few months back and now its fully textured as im trying to do a lot of different things as i go along as i get bored quickly if i stick to one object constantly.
Going back to my game level i have decided to add a bit grass- now and there! so i added a bit of green texture to all my diffuse. So, basically did all my diffuse for majority of the buildings, the bazaar and the boxes, bags etc. and imported them into UDK this was done within a space of one day. =) i have also modeled the black bag that's been textured. however i didn't render it as it doesn't look too good on 3d max but i have improved it in UDK and it looks much better. i know I'm going on about this level of mine and it gets frustrating for the reader for not showing any progress of it but don't worry i will definitely show it on my next blog. =D (see you there) just pictures would be uploaded on the next blog of my level progression.

Carrying On....

As i have constantly been working on house it got too repetitive so i moved my way on to modelling others assets like the bike, dumpster that are shown but i have also did some bin bags and messed around with the lights in UDK...Soon after that little break i jumped back into modelling houses and it is shown down below which i am going to put together and update it in my next blog...As always i upload any work i do as i go along into UDK.

My focus will now be put onto modelling the last 3houses that are remaining and the floor texture as i had no reference i went out and explored different types of concrete floor that would fit my level.

Other things...

on my previous blog i have been busy with the house's but it could become too repetitive which eventually gets boring. So i thought to move on to some thing else for the moment. I staretd to get my bazaar textured fully with all the maps and then get everything into the unreal development kit in other words UDK and here are some snapshots of whats been put into the udk and how it currently stands baring in mind it is not completly finished and some buidlings that are not in the udk yet but i will get that done by the end of tonight and i will upload as soon as that's done. here is a quick snapshot of the bazaar and the UDK...

yes the plane are not alpha'd yet but it will be done, as i am having some tecnical issues but i will get that done as soon as i figure out the problem...anyway after i get this two buildings done and textured fully and then inserted into the game level in other words UDK. I will move onto something else for the time being...i wll get the the ground textured fully and then start on the building's again...my plan is to get more than 65% done before the formative assessment and that is to get all the buildings done and the floor which will then leave me with the small assets...anwyay i will upload the progress of my game level asap...for the time being i will get the 2building's done and the ground. I will upload when that is completed. i will also upload another render of the bazaar as its to small to maximize.
