What have you been doing?

okay as i mentioned on my previous blog that i was going to go back on this asset and re-arrange the flowers but i didn't now i was going to re-texture it. so i started to add more light and details on to the diffuse and the rest and the result was much better than my previous renders. so im pretty glad i did so and i do not think that i wasted any time what so ever as the end result was a success.

anyway i started to model some fruits. Well to start with, i modeled some banana's that are not textured i have just put a basic paint on top but the fruit would be rotten and other fruits would be in the scene which i will be modelling very soon as there is a bazaar in the scene it would be pretty cool to have some assets that the player could interact with by shooting it etc.

so far i have six fruits in mind and they are
-apple
-watermelon ( i want to have the player to shoot the watermelon and have the inside bits to splash out which i will be working on for d next few days same with the pineapple) going to be interesting i guess.
-pears
-pineapples
-Kiwi
-oranges
and
-banana
As every fruits have a fruit basket i modeled a fruit basket and textured it completely which i will not have to go back to. this will be kind of my daily thing where i model three assets and have one or two assets textured. texturing takes longer than you think but i am happy the way this has come out and now ready to watch some tutorials how to smash up fruits and start to model them.
if i round all my assets up together i would have around 90-100assets possibly more or less, it depends really but i decided to model 15assets each week and have at least 5 or more textured. this would be my weekly task and when i come to texturing the big buildings i will model one each day that would be textured also...Im going to calculate it all and come to an conclusion which will be on my next blog, see you soon.

  1. FEEDBACK

The 28 weeks later genre is pretty well covered by hundreds of games and films, so you need to consider how you;re going to make yours stand out from the crowd.

I'd like to see you inserting some of the assets back into the level now, as you seem to have gone straight from 'the big picture' to the smallest and least important assets without filling in the major details, like the buildings and the street.

You need to prioritise what to build, how much time to allot each asset and work up a proper production schedule and some robust time management to ensure you complete the project to a sufficently high level - don;t forget you'll also be expected to include some dynamic behaviours, as this isn't just a 3d modelling project.
